Regardless of whether you have had Dyspraxia a long time or have just been diagnosed I think it is important as a Dyspraxic ( Hell it's important as a human being) that you continuously listen, observe, consider and learn in order for you to be aware of the world around you and so that you can be the very best version of yourself possible. I have learnt that once a person considers themselves an expert they have already lost. Think about it if you are an expert , you've been there got the t-shirt etc, that does not leave room for questions and new ways of thinking. Consider this compared to a none -Dyspraxic adult, we have a great deal of knowledge and a depth of understanding that they could never obtain. However, this does not mean that we are experts, ( I don't know about you guys, but I am learning new information about Dyspraxia all the time!!

Books I would recommend include;
Living with Dyspraxia: A Guide for Adults with Developmental Dyspraxia - Revised Edition by Mary Colley. This book is a comprehensive must have for all Dyspraxic adults. It is written in a down to the point and clear style which makes it easier to absorb the information provided. Bullet points and illustrations help to break the information down and Mary discussed all aspects of Dyspraxia from diagnosis to employment.
Caged in Chaos by Victoria Biggs. This was the first book I had ever red on Dyspraxia. What I like about this book is that Victoria brings in aspects of her own life into the picture. Quotes included help to enhance the readers understanding of the book. Jam packed with information; I think this book is good for the age 13 onwards. I'm no expert it is just my opinion. It may be worthwhile you doing as I have done and read Caged in Chaos followed by Living with Dyspraxia, as I think these books complement each other!
Last but not least, Dyspraxia; Dyspraxic Adults Surviving In A Non Dyspraxic World. In honour of Mary Colley who stood passionately for Dyspraxic and Neuro-diverse adults a like. This book began with a Facebook group, where by members asked questions and they were able to obtain practical tips in order to make their lives better. Initially there was only 12 members in the group, but now in 2017, we have 3,664 members. Content includes; the positives of being Dyspraxic, where to find help, guidance on benefits and points to consider when attending College, University etc. A wealth of information provided by talented and knowledgeable Dyspraxics, who are making a difference and are supporting each other. I feel fortunate to be a part of it !
